Land of the Morning Storm -- Book Covers

Here are some of the covers I considered during production of the book. The one on the top left I designed myself (OK for an amateur, I guess!); the rest were created by the brilliant Korean-American artist Chinmi Kim.

I chose the top center design because of its beauty and simplicity; the vertical lettering, reminiscent of Korean religious texts, draws Western eyes to it. I think the striking image of the ominous black clouds hiding the sun is intensely evocative of the mood of the book -- don't you?
